Laparoscopic Gynaecology

Gynecologic laparoscopy is an alternative to open surgery. It uses a laparoscope to look inside your pelvic area. Open surgery often requires a large incision. A laparoscope is a slender, lighted telescope. It allows a doctor to see inside your body.

Diagnostic laparoscopy : can determine whether you have conditions such as endometriosis or fibroids. It can also be a form of treatment. With miniaturized instruments, your doctor can perform a variety of surgeries.

Laparoscopic Ovarian cyst removal : Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy - Laparoscopic ovarian cyst excision is the procedure done to treat simple ovarian cysts. It is a safe procedure & does not need more than 1 day stay in the hospital, which is an advantage for young girls. Laparoscopy Ovarian Drilling - This is done in case of polycystic ovaries wherein the multiple cysts on the surface of the ovary are drilled.

• Laparoscopy for Infertility : This procedure is performed to determine the abnormalities/defects of the uterus, fallopian tubes and/or ovaries such as endometriosis, fibroid, congenital abnormalities and polycystic ovaries etc.

Laparoscopy generally has a shorter healing time than open surgery. It also leaves smaller scars.
